For 1 m solution (1 molal), if there is 1 kg of solvent in the solution, how much solute + solvent is there?

That would all depend on the molecular weight of the solute. To make one liter of a 1M solution, weigh out the solute, subtract that weight from 1000 grams and that is the quantity of water needed to make the one liter. At room temperature it should be fine to use 1000 grams for the weight of one liter of water.
