How can i help him? thank you?

My grandson inherited his ears from me and they are rather large. I used to get made fun of when i was in school. I fear he is being made fun of be he wont talk to me about it. How can he "disguise" his ears? Are hats still allowed in schools? Thank you so much i appreciate everyones answers and please no profanity. :)
