Why do some people mistakenly worry about Islamic militants in Egypt but Ignore Christian Militants in US?

Christianity has a stronghold in the US legislative , government processes and has positioned itself deep into our government. Why aren't we as worried about that than false ideas that any islamic group has interests in a theocracy in Egypt. Egypt has one of the more educated populace and is extremely secular from my travels.
