The car industry's slime. why aren't car warranties honored outside the country of purchase?

A warranty is a contract. The law is applied in the country ( and even State ) where the contract is made. Having said that, what country? U.S. auto makers honor warranties in Canada for cars purchased in the U.S. and vise versa.
